Horsefly Creek Veterinary Services was founded in 2019 by Dr. Nicki Seehafer with a commitment to providing dependable, knowledgeable large animal veterinary care to Montrose and the surrounding communities.

Originally from Wyoming, Dr. Seehafer earned both her bachelor’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. After completing a one-year internship in California, she made her way to Montrose and established Horsefly Creek Veterinary Services.

Since then, the practice has grown to welcome Dr. Hope Pavsek, a Northern Colorado native who earned her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from Penn State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Together with a skilled and dedicated support team, Dr. Seehafer and Dr. Pavsek provide comprehensive large animal veterinary services with an understanding of the animals, people, and agricultural operations they serve.

Dr. Nicki Seehafer | Practice Owner

Originally from Wyoming, Dr. Nicki Seehafer brings a strong agricultural background and a passion for large animal medicine to Horsefly Creek Veterinary Services. She earned her bachelor's degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University.After graduating, Dr. Seehafer completed a one-year veterinary internship in California before making the move to Montrose. In 2019, she founded Horsefly Creek Veterinary Services with the goal of providing dependable, practical veterinary care to livestock owners and producers throughout the area.Today, Dr. Seehafer continues to lead the practice while working alongside a growing team dedicated to serving the large animal needs of the Western Slope.

Dr. Hope Pavsek | Associate Veterinarian

Originally from Northern Colorado, Dr. Hope Pavsek returned to her Colorado roots after pursuing her veterinary education across the country. She earned her bachelor's degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from Pennsylvania State University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.Dr. Pavsek ultimately made Southwest Colorado home and joined Horsefly Creek Veterinary Services as an associate veterinarian. She brings her education, experience, and commitment to quality large animal care to the practice while helping serve the livestock owners, producers, and animals that make up our local agricultural community.
